  Prof. Iain Stewart (MIT) gave the UCLA physics and astronomy colloquium today - "New Windows into the Strong Interaction".

  Through the support of Bhaumik Institute for Theoretical Physics, we are organizing "Advances in QCD and Applications to Hadron Colliders Workshop" at UCLA Department of Physics and Astronomy during November 8 - 10, 2017.

  We received a NSF award from National Science Foundation, which will support our research activities from 2017 to 2020.

  Electron Ion Collider User Group Meeting 2017 will be held at Trieste, Italy during July 18 - 22, 2017. Zhongbo is a convener for the session "Phenomenology and new observables". For more information, see here.

  Zhongbo participated in 2017 RHIC and AGS Annual Users' Meeting held at Brookhaven National Laboratory, Upton, NY during June 20 - 23, 2017. He joined a panel discussion on "Future plans of pp/pA program at RHIC" in the spin and proton structure session. The full panel members are: Elke-Caroline Aschenauer (BNL), Zhongbo Kang (UCLA), John Lajoie (ISU), Rodolfo Sassot (Buenos Aires U.), and Matthew Sievert (LANL).

  Zhongbo will visit the theoretical division at Los Alamos National Laboratory for about one month, from June 19 to July 31.

  The QCD Evolution 2017 Workshop will be held at Jefferson Lab, May 22 - 26, 2017. Zhongbo is one of the organizers. For more information, see here.

  Zhongbo visited Institute of Physics, Academia Sinica in Taiwan. In addition, during his 10 day visit in Taiwan, he attended the 12^th Particle Physics Phenomenology Workshop held in National Chiao Tung University at Hsinchu.

  Dr. Felix Ringer (Los Alamos National Laboratory) presented a special nuclear physics seminar today "Jet substructure and heavy flavor production at the LHC".

  The Workshop on Chirality, Vorticity and Magnetic Field in Heavy Ion Collisions (QCD Chirality Workshop 2017) will be held at UCLA March 27 - 30, 2017. Zhongbo is one of the organizers. For more information, see here.

  Zhongbo gave the UCLA physics and astronomy colloquium today - "Quantum tomography of the nucleons".

  The 25th International Workshop on Deep Inelastic Scattering and Related Topics (DIS 2017) will be held in University of Birmingham, UK April 3 - 7, 2017. It covers an eclectic mixture of material related to QCD and DIS as well as a general survey of the hottest current topics in high energy physics. Zhongbo is a convener for the working group "Spin and 3D Structure". For more information, see here.

  Prof. Guang-You Qin from Central China Normal University visited our group, and presented a special nuclear physics seminar "Jet quenching in heavy-ion collisions".
